Erich Kissing

The publication Erich Kissing and Kerstin. Painter and Model is published on the occasion of his retrospective at the Kunsthalle Rostock 2018 and the Kunsthalle Jesuitenkirche Aschaffenburg 2022. In his paintings, Erich Kissing deals – sometimes sensitively, sometimes ironically – with the relationship between man and woman. This is particularly evident in his centaur paintings, where the wild, voluptuous ancient creatures become friendly and caring hybrid beings. A central figure in his works is the Leipzig model Kerstin, who appears again and again in the works. The catalog includes almost all of Kissing’s paintings, as well as pictures and photographs by Michael Triegel, Leif Borges, Günter Rössler, Dietrich Wenzel and Stefan Hoyer, which show the Leipzig model Kerstin.
